The Central Region Development Commission (CEDECOM) as part of its mandate to development (MSME) Micro Small and Medium Scale Enterprises was present at the second edition of the 2022 Central Region Digital Jobs Fair at the Cape Coast Metropolitan Assembly (CCMA) Hall.
Code Coast (Central Tech Hub), the organizer of the event, is a practical technology and entrepreneurship social organization that create an enabling environment for Software developers, startups and SME's thrive.
The digital job fair, under the theme: “Digitizing Commerce for Sustainable Business Development and Job Creation in the Central Region” was aimed at showcasing digital products and services by start-ups and MSMEs, rewarding successful mobile phone applications development trainees, orienting “Pretech Ladies”, among others.
Speaking on behalf of the Executive Director, CEDECOM, Mr. David Akoto Minta, Head of the ICT gave an elaborate view of the versatility of the internet in our daily business activities. He said It is high time we all come to the realisation that digitalisation is the current and future way of life. He however drew the attention of participants to the economic and social threats of digitalisation and the need to mitigate them. Some of these included issues of Data Security, Terrorism and Crime, Privacy, Copyrights and Plagiarism, Fake Accounts and Anonymity, etc.
CEDECOM also took the opportunity to exhibit one of its enterprise development products, the Business and Innovation (BGI) Hub. A representative of the hub, Lady Gloria Tawiah, spoke on the activities and services of BGI and entreated all present to take advantage of the facility to grow their ideas and businesses.
