CEDECOM showcases Central region at the 37th National Farmer’s Day celebration


The 37th National Farmer’s Day celebration was held from 29th November- 3rd December under the theme “Planting for food and job; consolidating food systems in Ghana. This year the Central Region was privileged to host the National Farmers’ Day, which was held at Adisadel school park. The opening session which was held on 29th November witnessed colorful display of Ghana’s rich culture and tradition. Some dignitaries who graced the occasion included the Omanhene of Oguaa traditional area, Osaberima Kwesi Atta II, Minister for food and Agriculture, honorable Dr. Owusu Afriyie and others.

As part of the celebration, Central Region Development Commission (CEDECOM) in collaboration with the University of Cape Coast (UCC) and other stakeholders mounted the farmer’s market exhibition.  There were several improved farm produce such as plantain, cassava, sweet potato, fruits, palm oil, garden eggs, okro etc. and processed food like prekese ginger drink, pineapple drink, gari, cassava flour, etc.

CEDECOM, also took the opportunity to exhibit the huge investment opportunities in the Central region as part of its mandate to promote and develop investments in the region. Displayed at its exhibition booth were sample products, hard and electronic photographs of selected products and projects of the Commission and its supported SMEs.
